Vail Ski Resort | Sunday Morning, 10/17
The Fandomites' last morning in Vail dawned cool and clear, the resort warm enough to get by with a light jacket, the slopes above frosty and crisp.
The portal back to Fandom would arrive after lunch, so now was time for packing, last-minute souvenir-shopping, or one final lift up the mountain to the wonderful land of snow-sports.
Or alternatively, freaking the heck out in your hotel room because Fandom knows no boundaries of distance or decency when it comes to attacking its current and former residents in their sleep to leave ladybits where manbits used to be, and manbits where... you get the picture.
So might the maid, if you forgot to leave the Do Not Disturb sign out.

Re: Room 223
Someone was going to wake up screaming tomorrow.
Re: Room 223
"Then really, all we have to worry about is getting back to the island without completely losing our minds, and we'll be fine, right?"
They could maybe even get away with swapping clothing! Because his coat was going to hang off of him something horrible.
Re: Room 223
"We can always take comfort in knowing that it isn't just us, either," Karla added with a firm nod. "Everyone's going to be at least a little freaked out about this."
Except those few people who actually liked it. Weirdos.
Re: Room 223
"Some more than others, I suppose." Warren drew a deep breath, and then exhaled again. Sigh. "If you weren't here too, I'd probably be losing it right about now."
He didn't like when his body changed drastically almost overnight. He didn't like it at all.
Re: Room 223
"I guess I'll just have to add this to my list of things made better by sharing them with you," she added, a little shyly.
Not that 'better' in this instance actually kicked it up to 'good.'
Re: Room 223
"How long is that list now, anyhow?"
Re: Room 223
Ahem.
"Pretty long, actually," she admitted. "Pineapples and curry and banana crepes and picnics, among other things."
Re: Room 223
He was kind of stupidly fond of room service now, thanks to Karla.
Re: Room 223
Re: Room 223
"I really," he managed, "don't think either of us are in any shape to answer the door right now."
Like, at all.
Re: Room 223
Re: Room 223
Why today, Fandom? Huh?
Re: Room 223
"Maybe I'll just call up a sight shield and stay invisible all day until it wears off," Karla mused. "If you're extra-nice to me, maybe I'll create one for you, too," she added with a smile.
Re: Room 223
Which was a yes, please.
"At least until we get as far as the island, and we can get clothes that fit."
Re: Room 223
She probably return the pants, even, so that was like a win.
"I can bring over a sweatshirt or something of mine, too? Maybe a long skirt? Those should fit okay even if we're not the same size."
Sigh. Her boyfriend had a nicer chest than she did. Him and everybody else.
Re: Room 223
Because barefoot in the snow would probably suck, otherwise.
Re: Room 223
Re: Room 223
Wishful thinking was a beautiful thing.
"I guess if all else fails, I can try to bribe one of the bellboys into getting us something to wear."
It wasn't as though money was any object, really.
Re: Room 223
"You know, if we're invisible, we can just sneak into a shop and leave a bunch of money on the counter. It's not even stealing if we do that."
Karla was going to get hungry soon. This dilemma had to be solved before midmorning or tragedy might strike.
She sighed and adjusted her position slightly. "You're still cuddlesome like this. Err, am I allowed to say that?"
Re: Room 223
Really, it wasn't as though his masculine pride could get dinged any more than it already had been.
"So are you, Karla."
... Except for the stubble. That part wasn't all that snuggly at all, but he was going to do his best to ignore it.
Re: Room 223
"Being a male is weird," she pronounced, though she gave Warren a small squeeze in appreciation for the compliment. "Not entirely comfortable, either."
There was still some shifting going on, as she tried to find a comfortable position to sit in. Except there were things. In the way! Constantly.
Re: Room 223
"Well, I wouldn't know about that. But then, I've been one my entire life, so maybe I'm just used to it. Being a girl is weird."
And this came with a pointed little squirm, because there were lumps of flesh on his chest and they were kind of squished up against Karla right then.
So weird.
Re: Room 223
"I am so willing to trade whenever you are," she said fervently. "This is weirder than the weekends when we turn into other people entirely. At least when it's happening, I don't know how weird it is."
Re: Room 223
And completely not bothering to cover up his chest. While he was wearing pants, it was not generally his front that he had to worry about hiding, usually. Give him a minute, he'd twig on and wrap his arms around and blush furiously, any moment, here.
There we go.
"Yeah. So. Trading would be great."
