Good morning, everyone, and welcome to another Saturday of the news as presented by the drunken squirrels who spy upon us all. It's fine. It's perfectly fine. I remain Miss Lydia Bennet, here to read said notes to the best of my ability given the squirrels' atrocious handwriting.

Let's begin, shall we, with the school, where Relax and Chill took naps, whilst Galactic Tourism visited Hoth, which is so cold Mr. Rand complained. Dr. Blake talked with his First Aid students about what to do when the situation is rather unexpected.

We've no notes for the dormitory; the porg and I have talked about this; on to the town, where Miss Zarrin was I'm sure hard at work at Plant Parenthood, whilst at Turtle & Canary a celebration of some sport with a soft ball was ongoing. At the Trooper Station, Detective Watts was confronted by quite a lot of oranges, and Mr. Grant planned to take some of them home with him after luncheon. At her warehouse, Miss Skywalker was likewise faced with a plague of round objects, but hers were not delicious oranges but rather "ping pong balls," which are apparently plastic, and which she warned Dean Skywalker of, lest he slip and fall and break a hip. Lastly, Mr. McGarrett was at his home looking for food, which I should certainly hope he has, and Mr. Williams wanted to discuss his activity levels. Apparently Mr. McGarrett was upset he was not chosen for Dean Skywalker's Wednesday madness, and I cannot imagine why. I'm not sure I shall ever get the stains out of that dress, and that's with magic.

That is the last of my notes, dear listeners, so I shall bid you farewell until next week. Remember: avoid the park on Wednesdays if you value your clothing!

The floor of the warehouse was covered in scattered patches of ping pong balls. A problem, yes. And because they moved so much, it was more annoying than it was when Rey had to sweep up sand or whatever, so she levitated them into a crate.

A moment later, even more were spilling across the floor.

That time, Rey tested a theory by levitating them into the lava. (It had its uses.)

Yeah so anyway she was gonna be meditating in the middle of a floor full of ping pong bslls.

"Welcome," Lana said. There was a large crate with her, which she levitated with the Force to get it through the portal. "Today I imagine we're all melting," since the heat index in Baltimore was 100F, "so we're going somewhere cooler. I've got cold-weather clothing once we're through." She gestured after the crate. Nobody was going to have to put that on until you were actually where it was cool.

She walked through the portal and waited until they showed up, putting on her parka and inviting the others to do the same. Which they might want to, since they were in an ice cave.

Okay, "cooler" might be underselling it.

"Welcome to Hoth. One of the colder settled planets in the galaxy. Well, semi-settled." She waggled her hand. "That is, there are military bases for both the Empire and Republic here, along with outlaw settlements and scavenger and trader outposts. No shopping today, but there is a spectacular view." She led the way outside one everyone was suited up. The cave was halfway up a steep slope, overlooking a gorge with volcanic eruptions every so often that leaked hot rock, making the place a bit artistically foggy and somewhat warmer in places. Where the sun glinted off the ice, it glittered in blues and whites.

"I've got tea and coffee, and a bit of whiskey if you like, and you can take some time to appreciate the view and the cold, or you can carefully walk down to see the eruptions if you'd rather. I trust you to know where 'too close' is."

Then she was sitting on a rock and pouring herself a tea and whiskey.

"Let's talk about what to do if you don't recognize the problem. Your patient has a rash, but it's blue. They're not human, and their anatomy is really different. They were bitten by a radioactive spider, or their problem is caused by a magic spell. If you're unfamiliar with these issues, you may not be sure what to do, and that's okay. There's stuff even the most seasoned ER doc doesn't know.

"The first step is, obviously, not to panic. Take a deep breath. Take a moment, if you need to, and to the extent you can without endangering your patient's life. One time when I was in med school, things went badly wrong in the middle of surgery and the attending walked out of the room, scrubbed out, and then scrubbed back in and came back five minutes later and fixed the problem cool as a cucumber, because he'd taken those five minutes to gather his thoughts and figure out what to do, and that's stuck with me.

"Next, act like it's normal. I don't mean act like you know what you're doing. If your patient is lucid you can ask them all the questions you want about, 'Hey is your heart normally where a human kidney would be?' because hopefully they know better than you, but that blue rash? Don't freak out about it at your patient. It's just going to make them feel bad, and also doubt your ability to help them. Also, proceeding as you would otherwise is never the worst idea. Okay, so the rash is blue. Treat it like you would a rash that wasn't blue until you receive information that makes you change course. Radioactive spider bite? Find out how radioactive it is, obviously, and then treat it like a spider bite and, if indicated, radiation poisoning. It might not be the perfect course of action, but it'll get you farther than standing around doing nothing.

"What else do you think is important to keep in mind when the situation turns out to be not quite what you expected?" Don asked his students. "Let's discuss."

The classroom was dimly lit this week with all the pillows anyone could ever hope for. And not just because Jane was still deeply embarrassed about the weekend! Don't be silly.

It was because it was relaxing.

"So napping," Jane said. "Can really help when the body needs extra sleep."

"Or when you just don't want to deal with something." Don't say the quiet part out loud, Cara.

Rude!

"So, let's settle in," Jane said, wincing.

"Just close your eyes and enjoy not having to do anything," Cara added.

Batter up! It was World Softball Day, and of course Turtle & Canary was celebrating! Prompto didn't know much about softball (or most sports, really, save for football, and that he mostly knew about because of the Puppy Bowl), but he did think what Apu had set up today was really fun and cute! He'd set up a softball diamond on the floor with the Squishy machine as home base, there were sales on anything baseball related, and he'd even gotten jerseys and caps for the staff!

Even Prompto!

It was going to take some doing to figure out how to set the cap on his head without messing up his hair too much, but once he got it, it was going to be selfie city, especially with the cheese panda, who was looking so great in his own oversize jersey, and now he was just going to have to try really hard to not idly munch on some of the peanuts and Cracker Jacks being offered with each purchase.

Ethics class had been a lot for Eleanor yesterday, and while spending a good portion of the rest of her day out in the ocean swimming and then just sprawling out in the sand like a the beached jellyfish she felt like had helped a little, things still lingered going on over to today. It was almost enough to make her want to just curl up in her bed and refuse to come out, but she now shared her room with part of the reason she was feeling so terrible, so going to work just to avoid Luma better was actually the better option.

She did what she needed to do around the shop somewhat half-heartedly, and then made herself some tea and settled behind the counter with her dog-eared copy of The Waste Land, because, look, some people turned to cheap romances or beach reads for comfort reading material, and Eleanor turned to brooding apocalyptical modernist poetry.

Yes, Sam was in a bit of a rush but that was in no way due to his own tardiness in posting class.

Once through the portal, Sam turned towards his students once more.

“There are a number of activities here! Most obviously, viewing the fossils! Ancient trees turned to stone. Perhaps you may be interested in one of several trails? Some are more difficult than others. I recommend visiting the visitor centers and museums! I also will be looking into the cultural demonstrations for the culture.”

Hannibal nodded to everyone as they settled in. The front of the room featured a table with a number of identical silver cloches over dishes.

When everyone was ready and listening, Hannibal stood behind the table and spoke.

"While I like to think that food can truly be an art form and a beautiful thing, I am well aware that not everybody shares that opinion. Nor does everybody have that option. Art, preference, culture - many things affect how we think of food. One of those is economics. Availability." He looked at them all seriously. "Not everybody gets the best food. Not everybody gets food they can eat. Some people are lucky if they get anything."

He gestured at the dishes. "So. Each of you gets one of these covered dishes. No peeking. When you each have your own, we'll uncover them all. If you don't like what you have, feel free to try to get something else. Barter, bargain, trade, give away, or steal, whatever you like, remembering that you may still need to see each other later. Consider this a hands-on experience."

As far as Steph was concerned, it wasn't so much putting up a Pride display of queer games and games by queer creators as it was giving the existing LGBTQ games section the spotlight for the month. Still, it was (obviously) her focus right now, along with prepping for Free RPG Day next Saturday.

This morning, she was adding a new game to the display; she'd ordered it weeks ago, actually, but it'd been held up in shipping. Something about accidentally getting routed through a dimension that ran at 0.25x speed, according to the sheepish delivery person.

She kept humming, for some reason.

Not inside! Who even gave those to you? How did you set them off without thumbs? Why am I even trying to understand this?

At least you didn't set the notes on fire. Or anything else considering the fumes.

Up at the School, the Library was decorated for Halloween, confusing both Gray and everyone listening.

Meanwhile Shenanigans involved a greasy pole, and free Moobyland as s prize, truly a puzzle as to which was the worse option. Though for some bizarre reason one of the Steves was in the stands and very sad about missing out, the voluntolds prepared themselves, and not even the horrors were enough to stop the inevitable flirting. And then there was the Pole, were only a few, namely Jaina, Eleanor, non sad Steve, and Vi, made it across to claim their dubious prize, though Lydia did get a pair of water wings out of it. Not that I have any idea what they are, but I'm assuming they also lack basic dignity. Also, Belle did not hug Anakin.

Over in the Dorms, put that firework down, or rather just outside them Lydia's walk of shame crossed pasths with Charlie's walk of no shame. Good for them, I guess.

In Town, Pick Your Poison was decorated for Christmas, just to spread the confusion around. Rey offered to help Adrian undecorate, while Lydia wanted henbane for 'non poison reasons', and why do I have a random parchment that reads 'don't eat the nutbread, not even once' mixed in here? Prompto gave his child a camera at Furnado. Harley did her washing and Mark was there. Everything was butterfly themed at Caritas, including the singing. Rey appreciated the colours, Atton was there, Stewart did not bring suspicious brownies or dubious nutbread, but Stark did bring cupcakes.

"Now, this recipe isn't really written down, it's just in my head, so follow along and write it down if you want to, okay?" Raiden proceeded through demonstrating how to make a blueberry-studded coffee cake with a cinnamon streusel: the fabled 'breakfast cake.' If you followed his directions, it would turn out fantastic. "Now you just bake it in the oven at 350 until it's golden brown and delicious and a toothpick comes out clean, and ta-da! Cake for breakfast. It's great with coffee, and allegedly also with tea. I'm sure you could substitute other berries or whatever. Any questions, or do we all just want to get straight to eating cake?"

Stewart had come up with the intention of getting some actual work done that day, mostly some organizing of the CDs and records, but then that all sort of went out the window when his playlist started leaning heavily into some HANABIE..

So now there was headbanging and dance breaks and an urge to cause chaos rather than order. So now all the CDs and records were going to be all mixed up, which he felt would be a more interesting experience for anyone actually looking for something specific, and, hey! It might give Charlie something to do or whatever next Tuesday. See? Wasn't that an important part of being a boss? Giving people bullshit tasks to do that were mostly unnecessary or self-created? Sure, she may have had a whole class about it beforehand, but the real ethical dilemma for Luma landed when she arrived at work later that morning, when she saw the new jelly shoes on display, and felt the urge to refuse that they were even remotely fashion and were actually much better suited as simply chew toys.

Although, to be fair, that urge was present with most shoes, if she was entirely honest, especially when she was a wolf, but these shoes seemed to lean particularly egregiously in that direction.

She did end up a little curious, though, and found a few in pretty enough pastel colors to warrant at least trying them on to see if maybe she was just missing something. And at least they were marginally better than those horrid Crocs that Boc kept all but buried toward the back of the store...

After one week in the Danger Shop and one off for a trip abroad, class was once again being held in the conversatory in the creepy mansion in the woods. In addition to the regular selection of beverages, there was a selection of various delicious handpies, each platter accompanied by a discreet list of ingredients, so nobody would have to worry about allergens or dietary restrictions.

"Good morning--" a stretch, considering how early it was and how much Liliana could still be sleeping, "--and welcome back to class." Anyone who expected Liliana to apologize for canceling class while she flitted off to Argentina to get engaged was in for a very long wait. "Today, we're discussing another short story, this one called The Cold Equations by Tom Godwin. It is, in fact, very short, and I highly recommend that people read it, either before the discussion, or on your own time; I've enough copies to pass out. But, as a summary )

Liliana looked around the class, violet eyes dark and fathomless. "So here is your cold equation, darlings. You are the pilot. You have medicine for 6 dying men. You are the only ship in the area, there is no chance of a last minute rescue. There is a girl standing in front of you, telling you that she's very sorry, that she just wanted to see her brother, and your ship's computer is informing you that you will reach the point of no return in just a few minutes. Noctra was in a creative mood that morning, it seemed, and so when Prompto brought her along with him to the shelter for work that day, she brought her little camera and Prompto gave her the task of being a wildlife animal photographer for the day, complete with a little safari hat to really drive home that sense of exploration and adventure that went with it. He also gave her a small list of things to focus on taking pictures of, his teacher instincts offering up a guide that he wasn't really sure she'd actually follow, but it would be good to get her to think about those sorts of things, you know? And then off she went with her camera, and Prompto kept one eye on her while taking care of this and that around the shelter, waiting for her to come running back to show him what she'd taken pictures of so that they could go through them together before she settled in for a nap.

So overall, a pretty good day! Even if the majority of pictures Noctra took were definitely not of actual animals, but you could tell what she was going for!

One thing modern garments had going for them, Lydia had to admit, was that they were a lot easy to put back on unassisted after one had been, say, gathering plants in the woods skyclad under the light of the strawberry moon.

You know. As one did.

Now she wasn't quite sneaking back into the dorm, as she had the right to go wherever she wished even if it was at an absurd hour, but she wasn't not sneaking, either. She didn't want to wake anyone, after all.

As she approached the dorm she heard an excited little trill and hissed, "Quiet!" before she looked over to find something that gave her pause: the intern porg scribbling in its notebook. Wait. Twenty feet up.

At the end of a very gross-looking wooden pole dangling over Serenity Cove.

"Today you're all out of for yourselves," Anakin yelled from the top of recycled scaffolding, which had a 40-foot long greased up telephone pole balanced between it about 20 feet up. "Many thanks to our local bars and restaurants for providing the lard, grease, fish guts, Crisco and bacon fat to really lube this thing up. The rules are simple," Anakin said. "Whoever gets across the pole and reaches the flag wins all you can eat at Mooby Burger for a week!" Whether Mooby Burger was a good prize or not was entirely up to the winners. "You may walk, run, or slide your way across, but you may not use supernatural powers."

"And thank you in advance for volunteering!"

Which was news to those volunteers.

Good morning. It’s Wednesday again and I’m here again because this is one of the things I do every week and have done for years now.

Let’s start with the school where in Finding New Hobbies we drew or colored. In Norse Life they played a game called…what?

*chittering* A game called hunh-something? I don’t know. A strategy game of some kind. In The Wonderful World of Art they watched a movie about…I’m not sure. The squirrels don’t seem to be either. And in Paintball Cal won again and the floor was lava but not really lava because Anakin was not in charge.

Nothing from the dorms and the porg is sad like he usually is so it’s time for the town.

Ignis was late to the diner and the staff put fancy specials on the menu because they didn’t think he was coming at all. Liliana came to visit, as usual.

Gladio had a gremlin in the claw machine at the gym and Summer did not want gremlin flavored noodles. That seems wise. Nell was there for a swim. Good idea. A nice warm pool and not the freezing ocean. Nell was also in her shop and in a very good mood. At Pixie Dust Boc was baffled by jelly shoes. Wait, what? You can’t make shoes out of that. Can you?

Charlie didn’t have anything made of jelly at Groovy Tunes and was listening to a song called ‘The Point.’ And at Caritas Kitty had to duct tape a zombie arm. Repeatedly. I’m sorry, Kitty.

And that was all the squirrels gave me from yesterday for today. Be careful of Anakin. You should always be careful of Anakin.

Not that he actually expected to get those answers. Not on this island.

And rather than waiting for the answers to appear (or Pam for that matter), Adrian went to fetch a ladder to start taking them down. Maybe he could donate these decorations to...someone else? Someone surely needed a bunch of foil garlands, imitation wreaths, and plastic ornaments to keep until Christmas.

He was not looking forward to getting the animatronic reindeer and the inflatable snowman off the roof. Or cleaning the fake snow off all the windows.

Two twelve foot high skeletons were dressed up (one was a wizard in a blue robe and hat spangled with stars, and the other was a pirate) and standing behind the circulation desk.

You know. Where she was supposed to be.

He didn't entirely get it but he felt better when he had things to occupy his hands and mind so why not try it?

I had a rough weekend and a quiet Tuesday so let's do a meme.

Your character has ingested a large quantity of truth potion. Any questions asked of them, they have to answer truthfully, whether they want to or not! There's absolutely no way around it.

Once everyone had settled, Aphra started. "Sometimes the thing about art is that there is no 'why?', just a 'why not?' and that's beautiful."

"If occasionally worrying," Isabela added. "Are the Australians okay?"

Your teachers had shaken off their weekend cheese hangover (and the other hangover. Lord, their alternative selves had put a dent in the wine fridge) and were ready to engage in some healthy competitive exercise!

"So, this week we wanted to test out some new settings," Tony began. "So today's course is a series of jungle gyms with the old game of the floor is lava."

"We didn't actually use lava," Steve said with a quick side-eye at Anakin.

"But if you touch through floor, you're out." Which was just as bad as lava, right?

Steve nodded. "It'll be fun!"

And luckily, today she just got to do normal stuff with her plants in the store and helping customers that might wander in.

Boc did not wear shoes. So Boc very often did not understand shoes. Sure, some of them made sense and were logical and he could see why people who wore shoes would find them practical or fashionable. He liked the look of a lot of boots and thought the possibilities with canvas sneakers were fascinating. Heels shoes looked more like torture than anything else, and most sandals, he was still a little unsure about.

But today he'd received a box of jelly sandals, and he did not know what to think of them.

On the one hand, his first impression was revulsion. But then he thought well maybe they were durable and therefor actually practical? But then he just thought about the plastic material and his nose wrinkled right back to disdain again. But some of them were very pretty colors. Some even with sparkles!

So he was left feeling a little baffled by them, shifting through the box to find the prettiest ones to put on display and then shoving the rest of the box behind the counter for now while he thought about how he felt about it and maybe considered asking Luma what she thought when she came in on Thursday.

Good news! Last week's 'Endless Treadmill' had been fixed and was now functioning like a normal treadmill again!

Bad news! Now the crane machine in the lobby was broken instead!

Well. 'Broken.' Gladio wasn't sure he could figure out how, or if he even wanted to figure out how, but, apparently, a gremlin had managed to get itself stuck inside the machine, and was tangled up in the claw mechanism to boot. And the guy working the desk at the night shift lost the key to open the machine to make it easier to free the gremlin.

So of course Gladio asked why he didn't just call him to come down with his key to help, but apparently, the guy didn't want to interrupt him on a nice quiet evening at home! Which was pretty nice of the guy, but sucked pretty hard for the gremlin.

"Fair warning," he told him, as he fished out his keys and shook his head, "if this guy wants to bite you once we manage to get him out, I'm not going to stop him, and I can't really blame him for it, either."

When Ignis showed up for work at the diner that Tuesday late, the rest of the staff was utterly shocked. Because while it had become increasingly more frequent that Ignis would sometimes skip days entirely, he was almost never actually late, and certainly not by as great a margin as he was that week. Sure, sure, ten minutes or so here and there was expected every so often due to the nature of where they lived, but this was several hours into when Ignis usually started, and it was just throwing everyone off.

Ignis, of course, was going to show up and head immediately toward the coffee pot before getting things going, as he always did, with no acknowledgement to his extreme tardiness except for a cool question: "So...what have you all decided to do with the specials board?"

Greg, after a pause where Ignis could only assume they were all silently conferring with each other, cleared his throat and answered:

Today's Specials
A Fancy Burger with Fancy Fries
Some Fancy Vegan Dish
A Fancy Dessert

Ignis felt the compulsion to argue that not all of his recipehs were all that fancy, but he sighed instead. "Yes, of course," he allowed, "but which ones specifically?"

No, no, he misunderstood. No specifics. Just fancy. Which was fine, he could work very easily within those parameters if anyone ordered it, but then one very important question came to his mind:

"Wait. Is that always what you just put on the board when I'm absent?"

Oh, he was definitely going to need more coffee.

Hey there Fandom, it's ya girl, Arden Finch, hoping everybody's properly over the nonsense that hit us this weekend. I'm totally not still feeling spiteful about being a forest for the whole weekend, honest.

Anyway, we still had School because we're not about to take it off for something as silly as being other people - or other landscapes! That's quitter talk! Teamwork had us crossing scary bridges, standing on seesaws, and trying to get out of boxes, all of which had to be done as a team. Which makes sense, considering the name of the class. Creative Problem Solving was very quiet due to 'hangovers from people who should know better.' Yeah, no wonder you recognized the signs, you furry, drunken miscreants. The Art of Conversation wanted to talk about the weather all class. That sounds terrible. Luma and Professor Sims managed to have a whole conversation about the weather, while Luma and Mr. Blackwood talked about why small talk exists. Professor Sims seemed to think it was because people liked it. Yeah, I'm gonna go with probably not, Professor. And then National Park Adventure Team visited Beringia National Park, where there was a ton of stuff to do, including whale watching! Guess what I did!

The expected no notes for the Dorms, but Town was busy bright and early this morning. At IX Serendipity Place, Professor Fel returned from being a car, and Professor Solo-Fel managed not to mention it to him for a whole five minutes. Hey, did he turn back with clothes on? Because if he did, I need to speak to the island's manager, what the BLEEP! MCA #0 also had a wakeup, complaining about how Officer McGarrett had eaten all the food over the weekend. Hey, at least you both were still people, okay? Professor Fel gets me. I woke up naked at Selkie Cove, but Raiden rescued me by bringing me clothes and making me an amazing breakfast.

*coughing* ANYWAY, MOVING ON TO PEOPLE ACTUALLY DOING NORMAL MONDAY THINGS! The Infinite Consortium had its usual lunchtime visit from Professor Scientia, who challenged Professor Vess to a guessing game. Why are there smirky emojis all over this note? Professor Argentum was at the Photo Hut sniffing himself and I'm not even reading the rest of this note, we're just gonna go to the next one, thanks. 'Turtle and Canary National Earl Day'? What the BLEEP does that mean? Earls like the name? The rank? The--I'm thinking far too hard about this, next note. Something sane, I hope.

Well, it looks like Ms. Nell spent the morning chasing down expensive flowers at Covent Garden Flowers. I hate that my first guess is that her flowers were suddenly ambulatory today. Because that's something that absolutely could happen here. I'm not sure that it didn't. The Magpie Emporium got the paints and flags out for Pride, with Steph coming by to give the store robot a flag to carry. After his breakfast was delivered, Officer McGarrett went in to work at the Trooper Station, even though the squirrels are firmly convinced he should have stayed home. Sorry, Officer McGarrett, but when even the squirrels think you're being dumb about something, that's probably an important sign. After being a total hero, Raiden opened Pizza Planet while arguing with Castor about the provenance of art. Uh-oh. Professor James Stark asked about everybody's weekend at the Clinic--why would you do that? Fortunately, Mr. Northman was doing the exact opposite of that at the Devil's Nest, trying not to hear anything about Tiny's weekend. Hopefully Ms Blake's text was a good distraction, she was letting Mr. Northman know that she was...trapped in LA? Okay then.

Anyway, that's it for today's notes. This is ya girl, Arden Finch, signing off and leaving you with another song for Pride, Honey by Halsey.

"I hope you're ready to head north, because we're going to Beringia National Park," Ghanima said cheerfully. "It is the easternmost protected area in Russia, located at the border between Russia and North America, and two oceans, the Pacific Ocean and the Arctic Ocean."

"Until 11,000 BCE, the territory of the park was connected by a land bridge – known as "Beringia" – to North America. On the eastern side, in Alaska, is the Bering Land Bridge National Preserve, operated by the US National Park Service. There have been talks between the US and Russia about joining the two parks into a cross-border "international park", but as yet nothing has been formalized, and probably never will be," she said dryly. "Politics."

"The park was formalized as a National Park in 2013, and is spread over two districts on the Chukchi Peninsula: Providensky District to the south, and Chukotsky District to the north. The topography tends to be a maritime highland subarctic tundra, while the mountains are medium height – averaging 900 meters, with the highest being Mt. Iskhodnaya at 1194 meters. There are also extensive tundra plains to explore, for those who don't want to go up a mountain."

"Now, Beringia has the richest biodiversity in the Arctic. In the park there are more than 640 species of Arctic flora, and the fauna of Beringia National Park is the richest among Russian protected areas in tundra."

The portal snapped into existence, and she hoisted Trebor on to her shoulders with a grin. "So, let's get going!"

"Were you yourselves this weekend?" he asked the nurses. A series of shrugs, nods, and headshakes followed.

Stabby nodded vigorously. Which looked weird, because crab. Maybe too vigorously. Was the crab being suspicious? Probably. He usually was.

The clinic was open, the crab was slightly too cheerful, and the alien was in.

Good Morning all, and hopefully everything is back to rights after what from all reports was one of those strange weekends. And speaking of reports...

In the Dorms, Flash the sloth was inching his way across the lobby to the door.

The rest of the action, such as it was, was in Town, with Miss Skywalker unable to hold tools and yet capable of holding an iced coffee. And speaking of coffee, Mr. Jenson was at the Perk with a dog hoping to 'pick up' women. Finally, later in the evening Mr. Lockhart is enjoying some cheese and wine while soaking in a hot tub, before he is joined by Mr. Jensen, whom the notes want to make very clear was sitting 'five feet apart' from Mr. Lockhart.

That's all from yesterday, this is Detective Watts signing off.

Jon nodded to them as they settled. "Up until now, we've been largely trying to talk about our own things and connect that way, but apparently one of the principles of conversation is 'embracing small talk'." Did that sound as horrible to you as it did to him?

"So today we're going to talk about the weather. And only the weather." Definitely not anything to do with this weekend. "And we're going to talk about the weather for as long as we're able."

On the off chance anyone in the class had ever wondered just how drunk two people with an intimate awareness of their limits and who'd decided to race past those limits could get, the answer was: very. The the point that the only reason Ahsoka wasn't wearing dark glasses to class was that she didn't have ears to hook them over.

"Today," Anakin said, very quietly with his hood up like a normal person who feared light, "is going to be a very quiet class. Very. Quiet."

"So quiet that your task involves almost no talking," Ahsoka, who had hearing much more sensitive than a human's and was deeply regretting that fact, said. Which would explain the stack of whiteboards and markers.

"First you'll very quietly take out your pictures of your best-looking family members and in your softest voice explain who they are or were," Anakin said. "And then we've split you into teams of two. We'll explain more once the pictures are finished."

Once Anakin had finished his near silent judging, Ahsoka continued. "One half of each pair has three minutes to come up with and write down as many obscure animals as they can think of. You can go off into your cubicles now and start writing." She turned to the other half of the pairs. "Once their time is up, you will hand them this clue, which tells them they must attempt to mime their list of animals for you to guess. You will write you guesses down on the whiteboard. The team with the most correct guesses wins."

Class today was back in the Danger Shop, which was made up to look like a ropes course, parts of it high off the ground. Was anyone afraid of heights?

"Welcome back to anyone who was indisposed this weekend," Jaina began, not at all looking at a husband who was resolutely not acknowledging that he'd gotten a boot put on him yesterday for being illegally parked. "We're back to it today, where you're all going to throw on some safety gear and make some teamwork happen."

Jag, also resolutely not a car, continued, "You'll have three tasks that will require you to work together to complete them. You'll have to complete all three by the end of class, and no powers are allowed."

"All right," Jaina said. "Let's get you all suited up."

The store was never not at least a little bit ready for Pride, but the big box of decorations had been slightly belatedly but enthusiastically been dragged out of storage and set up about the store, with more flags hung out and the pin displays and themed sets of dice put out in an even more prominent spot than usual.

Like last week, Vi had the model paints out, but today she was touching up Little Bot's rainbow paint job and mostly ignoring the half-finished and in her opinion not very good sketch she had in her notebook.

Thankfully, her doubt proved to be well-founded, because he was only Earl for National Earl Day. Apu was also wearing a nametag that said Earl, and wouldn't you know it, he also had one for Summer.
