Vail Ski Resort | Sunday Morning, 10/17

The Fandomites' last morning in Vail dawned cool and clear, the resort warm enough to get by with a light jacket, the slopes above frosty and crisp.

The portal back to Fandom would arrive after lunch, so now was time for packing, last-minute souvenir-shopping, or one final lift up the mountain to the wonderful land of snow-sports.

Or alternatively, freaking the heck out in your hotel room because Fandom knows no boundaries of distance or decency when it comes to attacking its current and former residents in their sleep to leave ladybits where manbits used to be, and manbits where... you get the picture.

So might the maid, if you forgot to leave the Do Not Disturb sign out.

"That is kind of comforting, yeah," Luke said, smirking slightly. "I'm still not walking out the door without pants."

Normally he didn't mind a bit of exhibitionism but this was just weird. It was like he was controlling someone else's body. That's not right.

"I'm gonna get myself some clothes. Or try, anyway. I don't know if my powers work like this," Luke said. "You want some?"

"Yes, please," Jason said. Feeling so useless was really not entertaining. "I'll take anything that might vaguely fit."

"I think I can ballpark our sizes," Luke said, looking Jason over for a moment. Luke closed his eyes and tried to picture girls back at camp that were around their size, hoping that would make it easier to get the right kind of clothes.

He evidently thought a little too hard about girls he knew at camp because when he snapped his fingers what came up were two pairs of jeans and two orange Camp Half Blood shirts.

"Uh, I hope I didn't take these off anybody I knew," Luke said, lifting up a shirt. He could only hope he took the outfits of two Ares girls.

As if Jason wasn't feeling useless enough, watching Luke with his awesome powers made him feel like an even worse friend. Still, he wasn't going to dwell on it now while there was dressing to do.

"You can apologize later if you did. Tell them it was an emergency," he said, reading the shirt. "No one's gonna get pissed that I'm wearing that, right?" Because that would just be the icing on the cake of this morning.

"The only person that would get pissed would be Percy and who cares what he thinks?" Luke said, tossing over the clothes. "He's a dumbass."

Jason had to laugh at that as he started getting dressed. "Good point. I really hope this hit him too, because if he's getting off normal while the rest of us are screwed..."

"Ugh he'll be insufferable," Luke said, making a face. "The island can't be that cruel."

"No, the island can't be cruel enough to mess with me and not him," Jason said. "He deserves this so much more than I do."

"Won't even argue with you there," Luke said. Right now he was totally grateful he mastered the art of putting on pants while under the covers years ago. He was just not ready to check himself out like that. "And of course he thinks he's right about everything..."

Jason was settling for closing his eyes as he got dressed, so he didn't see anything he probably shouldn't be looking at at this point in his life. "Everything and everyone. He still thinks you're like, secretly evil or something."

That threw Luke for a loop. Sometimes he forgot Percy was the kid that pulled a sword on him the first day they met. "Wait, what? Evil? Seriously?"

"Ooh, and he called you a moron," Jason added. He knew he probably couldn't beat Percy in a fight, but Luke was a different story, and he had no problem letting Luke get Percy for him.

"Whatever, he's the moron," Luke said, slipping out of bed and smoothing out his clothes. Hrm. Probably should have snapped up a bra. Whatever, it's not like they were necessary to life. "He's the one that can't separate me from the other me he knows. Moron."

"Yeah, I told him he was an idiot, but I think he gets that enough that it doesn't really sink in anymore," Jason said, moving out of the bed once he was dressed. "Maybe he'll be a really ugly girl."

Luke smirked. "Don't you think he'll end up looking just like you again?"

"Probably," Jason said. "But I'm going to hold out hope that we're different girls. I can muster up some optimism when necessary."
