Vail Ski Resort | Sunday Morning, 10/17

The Fandomites' last morning in Vail dawned cool and clear, the resort warm enough to get by with a light jacket, the slopes above frosty and crisp.

The portal back to Fandom would arrive after lunch, so now was time for packing, last-minute souvenir-shopping, or one final lift up the mountain to the wonderful land of snow-sports.

Or alternatively, freaking the heck out in your hotel room because Fandom knows no boundaries of distance or decency when it comes to attacking its current and former residents in their sleep to leave ladybits where manbits used to be, and manbits where... you get the picture.

So might the maid, if you forgot to leave the Do Not Disturb sign out.

"Wha?" Sookie stuttered awake, blinking blearily at him. "...what the -- oh! Bobby?"

A second or so late, sure, but at least she recognized him. It helped that he still sounded the same, mentally.

Nope, hadn't noticed her own issues.

"You're a guy!" No shit, Sherlock. Wait... could they still say that, since Sherlock Holmes was in Fandom now? Oh well. "A guy!" Because it needed restating, apparently.

"...you're a girl," Sookie said slowly, then looked down at herself. "Sweetie, it's me."

This would have been more shocking if it hadn't happened to her last year, and all.

"You who's a guy!" Bobby said, shaking an accusing finger at her as if it were Sookie's fault.

"I'm still Sookie," she pointed out. "And you're a girl. Come on, this happened last year. I'm gonna need to borrow your clothes, though. Do I look like I did last year, or more like Jason?" she added, getting out of bed to go find a mirror.

Please, this would wear off. She could deal.

That she was still Sookie was kind of the problem, because well... "Yeah, but last year we weren't dating!"

"...and?" Sookie asked, staring at him. "Does it really matter?"

"Yes," Bobby grumbled. Because it did, damnit.

"Why?" she wondered, baffled. "It's not like I'm in a huge hurry to make out with you like this or anything."

There was a part of Bobby, though that kind of, sort of, wouldn't have actually minded making out with Sookie right now. Which was the problem, because he was very much a straight guy thank you... except for that one future where he apparently had a kid with a dude, and the fact that he had girlparts right now.

"People shouldn't just change like this," he said firmly, as if it were some sort of betrayal.

"You didn't have a problem when we were little kids," she replied, running a hand along her chin. Stubbly! "Wanna borrow some clothes, hon?"

"I didn't know I wasn't supposed to be a kid," Bobby pointed out. Which was weird, now that he thought about it. "Do you have anything that's not, like, really girly?" he asked. He wasn't wearing anything lacy. Or a skirt. Or anything pink. For example.

"Sadly all I brought was my collection of pinafores," Sookie said sadly, wandering over to her suitcase and selecting a t-shirt, hoodie and a pair of jeans. "We look like we wear about the same size. Or, well, you wear my normal size-ish."

She paused, frowning, and carefully added, "...you're going to need a bra."

"Ugh," Bobby made a face. "Do I have to?"

"Do some jumping jacks and tell me what you think," Sookie suggested, raising an eyebrow. "You're gonna want some support, sweetie."

Oh, he remembered from last year. Didn't mean he had to like it. "Doesn't mean I have to like it."

"Since I dunno your bra size and whether you're actually gonna fit in mine," she noted, just moving right over that, "wanna wear a sports bra? S'just like a really tight shirt. You don't have to fiddle with clasps or anything."

He didn't want to wear any sort of bra, but... he sighed. "Yeah. I guess."
