Vail Ski Resort | Sunday Morning, 10/17

The Fandomites' last morning in Vail dawned cool and clear, the resort warm enough to get by with a light jacket, the slopes above frosty and crisp.

The portal back to Fandom would arrive after lunch, so now was time for packing, last-minute souvenir-shopping, or one final lift up the mountain to the wonderful land of snow-sports.

Or alternatively, freaking the heck out in your hotel room because Fandom knows no boundaries of distance or decency when it comes to attacking its current and former residents in their sleep to leave ladybits where manbits used to be, and manbits where... you get the picture.

So might the maid, if you forgot to leave the Do Not Disturb sign out.

"You would not," Faramir replied, glancing up at the girl and the clothes were all too familiar.

It was best not to wonder that he did recognise Maladicta's clothes. He was just observant. That was it. At least it made for an interesting guessing game, but he knew who Maladicta had been sharing with. "And if I would hazard a guess, then I would say that you are Alexander?"

"It's the clothes, isn't it?" asked Alexander with a pleased grin. "I know it isn't the hair."

But then he shook his head, slightly. "It is most bizarre, this occurrence, but the more I see other experiencing the same, the better I feel about the whole event."

"It is the clothes, but I could have been wrong if Maladicta had chosen to help out more people than just her roommate," Faramir replied.

"There is a comfort in numbers," he agreed. "Though I doubt anyone seems as pleased as Maladicta does."

"Maladicta owes me the use of her clothes," Alexander pointed out with a snort of a laugh. "It's starting to be more times than I can count, too, as I woke to her rifling through my trunk. Pleased doesn't quite seem to entirely describe it, though I can only imagine her enjoyment of the situation has increased since the acquiring of more coffee to boot."

"Does... No, I will not ask," Faramir decided that really, it would be better for his ~~jealousy~~ sanity. "Perhaps it was most unwise of me agreeing to meet her in a coffee house later. I did not consider this."

"Does...what?" inquired Alexander, because, really, it was difficult not to be curious as to what Faramir was deciding against asking. "And I am sure as long as there is coffee available to satiate her, she should be easily kept under reasonable control."

"Only is she wishes to be kept under control," Faramir pointed out, and shook his head. "It does not matter. How is it that you look so very different?"

"I believe," Alexander offered, "it has everything to do with my sister. You see, we are twins, though we look quite differently from each other. She is the only one in my family with such fair hair, and I suppose, whatever forces have caused this strange thing to happen, reasoned that, I, as a lady, would essentially be Rosella. I shall have to see, if she ever turns male, if she ends up looking like me, to truly test that theory, I suppose."

"That does seem to hold some logic," Faramir agreed, "though I imagine it must be rather strange to look like one's kin."

It would have kept Faramir from showering this morning, at least.

"It...is," Alexander admitted, and tried to avoid thinking of any ogling done on the part of his roommate. "But it should make for a very interesting letter home, that is for sure. I cannot decide if Rosella would find the whole thing outrageous or amusing."

"But it should at least be amusing to find out which it is," Faramir grinned and shook his head. "I would rather prefer my brother never did find out. I would never hear the end of it."

"I believe I run the risk of that as well," Alexander admitted with an oddly musical sort of laugh, "but I have the advantage the looking like my sister might afford me the chance to counter with things she'd rather I didn't."

"You could have someone with a camera take pictures of you," Faramir suggested. "They would serve well for such matters."

It was no only Boromir who could land himself into trouble.

"Particularly," Alexander mused, "in a fashion that would suggest something a bit scandalous."

His actual thoughts on the matter were surprisingly innocent, as far as things to be considered scandalous could go.

"It never hurts to be prepared for blackmail when need be..."

"It does not, I would say it is rather useful to be prepared," Faramir agreed. "I am certain there must be someone here who has such a camera."

"I shall keep an eye out," said Alexander, with a nod, "although it does make me wonder how Rosella would take to the idea of photographs. We have nothing like cameras in Daventry."

"Neither do we," Faramir said, "and I think perhaps I would prefer if Boromir did not find out. He would somehow manage to use it against me even from such a distance away."

Alexander considered this for a moment.

"Your Boromir sounds as if he may be even more insufferable than my Rosella," he had to admit, "and that's rather impressive."

"My brother strives to be the best at all that he attempts," Faramir said with a laugh, but still there was fondness there even so. "It does not help that he usually succeeds as well."

"And Rosella has the rare privilege of succeeding at being the best," Alexander laughed as well, "despite her attempts to the contrary."

"I fear if they were ever to meet each other then," Faramir sounded amused. "They would either kill each other, or make us all regret the day they met."

"I'd fear it would be the former rather than the latter," Alexander mused. "Rosella would avoid the latter at all costs, because she know our mother would be all too pleased to see her actually not being horrible to a male and potential suitor."

"She would not need to worry with my brother," Faramir said. "He has sworn to never marry and has no desire to be anyone's suitor. He likes his freedom and his blade too much for that."

There was a significant pause at that.

"By the heavens," he muttered, "they really would get along perfectly, then."

Faramir burst out laughing. It was still not very ladylike.

"Now that is a troublesome thought."
