Vail Ski Resort | Sunday Morning, 10/17

The Fandomites' last morning in Vail dawned cool and clear, the resort warm enough to get by with a light jacket, the slopes above frosty and crisp.

The portal back to Fandom would arrive after lunch, so now was time for packing, last-minute souvenir-shopping, or one final lift up the mountain to the wonderful land of snow-sports.

Or alternatively, freaking the heck out in your hotel room because Fandom knows no boundaries of distance or decency when it comes to attacking its current and former residents in their sleep to leave ladybits where manbits used to be, and manbits where... you get the picture.

So might the maid, if you forgot to leave the Do Not Disturb sign out.

"Yes," said Alexander, "but she's all the way in Daventry, so it's nothing to worry about."

There was a slight pause of consideration for Maladicta's own situation. "You know," he said, "you could have waited until I woke up to start rifling through my clothing, Maladitca."

"It was that or wear my bedsheets," she insisted. Though the fact that she'd clearly tried on more than one thing might negate that. "I'm taller than before."

"And I'm shorter, slighter," Alexander noted, which was why he was still not moving much from the bed. Rosella's tiny hips were all but swimming in his shorts. But a grin spread across his face. "Does this mean that, for a change, I'm the one who gets to borrow your trousers?"

"I think not," stated Alexander with a very certain voice, and a faint smirk. "That is, unless, you should like to help me shop for one."

"So that's a no on the shopping trip?" asked Alexander, laughing and failing at sounding surprised. "I'm shocked, Maladicta, I thought you'd be jumping right at an opportunity like that. As soon as you're finished finding what of my clothing you'd like to steal this time, I'd appreciate it if you could pass me a pair."

That got a pair of trousers tossed directly at his head. "They should fit. You're nearly as slender as me."

Alexander's reflexes were a little off in his more slender self, leading to a pair of trousers in the face and a laugh. A laugh that sounded strange and made Alexander vow to not laugh as much. It was just weird, hearing his sister's voice from his own mouth.

"And here's to hoping Rosella can wear them as well as you can, too, then."

Because Alexander might be blonde and attractive now, but he could still clear his throat suggestively just as well as before.

Maladicta turned away to grab just that. So you better take that as a favour, Alexander.

"You are too kind," said Alexander, thinking on how many shirts Maladicta would still owe him to make them even, but he was not going to miss the window of chance to get up out of bed, out of his shorts, and into Maladicta's trousers.

Even Alexander could pick up on the badness in that statement, arching an eyebrow as he settled the trousers into place.

"Yes, I suppose I do..."

Alexander tried to picture this meeting.

Alexander cleared his throat.

"I am...not very sure that is an entirely good idea, actually."

"Do you remember," asked Alexander, "my initial reaction when we first met, Maladicta?"

"That," Alexander nodded, "and I'm fairly sure it wouldn't take a pile of ash for Rosella to put a few pieces of a puzzle together."

And they were a resourceful lot, so it wouldn't surprise him at all if she'd have a stake conveniently in her inventory.

"Despite our mother's best efforts, no," Alexander had to laugh a bit at that. "Besides, she's just always been very...direct. And our family does have a bit of a...past with this sort of thing, and she takes after my father in that her solution tends to be to act first, ask questions later."

Maladicta offered over the shirt, giving him a concerned look. "I don't think your entire family would like me very much then."

"Not at first, no," Alexander had to admit with a faint smile as he took the shirt. "But I'm sure they'd warm up to you once they got to know you."
